Frank McDonough is, and has been for over 26 years, the LA Arboretum’s Botanical Information Consultant. His job is to answer gardening and landscaping questions, identify plants and pests, troubleshoot landscape problems, and speak to local clubs and organizations on gardening, landscaping, and tree care topics. Frank is also a photographer for the LA Arboretum, and puts together videos on gardening and landscaping subjects.
He answers more than 2500 phone, email, and walk-in inquiries a year from government, business, and the general public. Frank holds a degree in Botany from Cal Poly Pomona and is a Certified Pest Control Advisor. His hobbies include cave exploring and travel, and he has just recently obtained his Unmanned Aerial Vehicle License from the FAA.
