What Is the Community Book?

The Sierra Madre Community Book is our biggest fundraiser of the year — and a project of which we’re incredibly proud. Now in its 3rd year, the book was created to help spotlight and support local businesses while raising funds that go right back into the community. Proceeds help support a variety of local causes, youth initiatives, grants, and community programs that make a difference throughout Sierra Madre and nearby communities.

What Community Programs Do the Proceeds Support?

Proceeds from the Community Book help support a wide variety of programs, projects, and organizations that directly benefit our community.
Youth Programs:
Proceeds help support youth-focused programs that encourage leadership, creativity, and community involvement. This includes programs such as Interact Club, the Dan Stover Music Program, Teen Leadership Camp (TLC), and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). (You can learn more under our Youth Programs section!)
Mini Grant Program
Funds also help support our Mini Grant Program, through which grants are awarded multiple times throughout the year to individuals and organizations whose projects directly benefit the Sierra Madre community.
Community Projects & Events
Community Book proceeds help make many local projects and events possible throughout the year, including park cleanups, Teacher Appreciation events, First Responder and Veteran recognition events, support for the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association, and even the installation of holiday decorations throughout downtown Sierra Madre.
Support for Local Organizations
Proceeds also help support a variety of local organizations and initiatives, including library improvements, school programs, and other projects that keep Sierra Madre vibrant, connected, and thriving.

What's Inside?

As our country celebrates its 250th anniversary, the 2026 Community Book takes a closer look at the people and stories that helped shape not only Sierra Madre, but pieces of American history itself.

Along with information from over 100 local businesses, this year’s edition shines a spotlight on the remarkable individuals who shaped our community. Did you know Sierra Madre has been home to a sculptor who worked on Mount Rushmore , one of the nation’s most decorated Medal of Honor recipients, and a woman who helped pioneer childcare during World War II? Inside the book, you’ll discover these inspiring stories and many more while exploring the rich history, fascinating residents, and community spirit that make Sierra Madre such a special part of America’s story.

Is It Free?

YES! The Community Book is completely free thanks to the incredible support of our local community heroes who helped make the book possible through advertisements and sponsorships.

Their support not only helps fund the Community Book itself, but also helps support programs and projects that benefit Sierra Madre throughout the year. We encourage everyone to support these local businesses and organizations whenever possible — because shopping local and supporting our community heroes helps keep Sierra Madre thriving for generations to come.
