How to Become a Member

Becoming a member of a Rotary club can be a fulfilling experience, offering opportunities for personal growth, professional networking, and making a difference in both local communities and around the world. Rotary International is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change. 

Understand Rotary's Mission and Values

Before applying, it's important to align with Rotary's mission and core values. Rotary's primary motto is "Service Above Self," emphasizing humanitarian service, high ethical standards, and the promotion of peace.

Attend Meetings and Events

Before becoming a member, attend several meetings or club events. This will give you a sense of the club's culture, projects, and members. Rotary clubs welcome guests and those interested in membership, providing an opportunity to ask questions.

Your sponsor will provide you with a membership application to fill out. This form asks for basic information about your background, occupation, and reasons for wanting to join Rotary. It's also an opportunity to highlight any particular skills or experiences you can bring to the club.

Engage with Your Rotary Club

Once you become a member, engage with your club and its activities fully. Attend meetings regularly, participate in local service projects, and consider getting involved in international initiatives. Be prepared to pay membership dues, which cover club, district, and Rotary International fees.
