Gus Barrientos is the Chief of Police for the Sierra Madre Police Department, a role he has held for the past 2.5 years. He began his law enforcement career over 30 years ago and spent more than 28 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, serving in patrol, traffic, detectives, gang enforcement, homicide, narcotics, and specialized investigations.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology from California State University Northridge and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership at the University of San Diego, furthering his commitment to advancing professionalism and excellence in policing.
